The real meat and potatoes of this update is the new battle screen. You will now be able to see the individual steps that led you to winning or losing a battle. This is just the first step in a combat rework. In the new year I will be adding individual units like Archers, Swordsmen, Axemen and Housecarls.

The battle screen adds flavour to the game by telling you what's actually happening when you commit to an attack or have to defend your territory from an enemy King. The battle screen includes the following details:

  • The location and time of the battle.
  • The outcome of the battle.
  • The name and flag of the kingdom that won the battle on the left.
  • The name and flag of the kingdom that lost the battle on the right.
  • Events coloured in yellow, red and green that describe the events of the battle as they happen.


Additional changes made during this update are as follow:

  • Minimise button on the battle screen, that clears the battle from the screen.
  • Dismiss button on the battle screen, that clears the battle from the screen and the map.
  • Reset the positions of some castles and armies to accommodate the Battle Bubbles that now appear on the map.
  • In the scenario designer you can use the left key on your keyboard to close the Scenario Designer and take you back to the main menu.
  • In the scenario designer you can use the up/down keys on your keyboard to cycle through the various kingdoms available to play.
  • In the scenario designer you can use the right key on your keyboard to save your configuration and start the game.
  • Fixed scaling issues with 1440p displays. (Now testing the game in 720p, 1080p & 1440p resolutions).
  • Fixed scaling issues with castles and armies in higher resolutions.
